StyleSpy: maxi dis-dress

I came across this dress last week,
and it has me scheming how to make it mine.
Does it woo you to? Sadly, the price brought tears to my eyes.

So, I went on a hunt for an awesome maxi dress, and sadly,
I have not found anything inspiring or tempting that meets my three requirements:
a) affordable,
b) sleeves, and
c) awesome print

Is it just too early in the season?
Here are some possible contenders.
What do you all think?

I like Oscar, calypso and that orange Diane von F. In that order too :) Hope that helps.

I like your original DVF but I am adoring the color the Oscar the Third. Plus the style of that one reminds me of Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is always a good thing. :)

Sadly, maxi dresses just don't look good on me. I'm short and kinda apple shaped. They look like nightgowns when I try them on. :(

I love the contenders. I have always bought maxis and stuck cardigans over them because I can't find anything with sleeves. I'm on the hunt as well... maybe Shabby will take on the task!

Ohh I'm loving the Oscar and the Calypso dresses. Sadly, where I live, I've noticed there are far more short dresses this season than long dresses, unlike last season. Luckily, I bought a few last year.

Tory Birch for sure. Bright colors are so in the season. Plus it is not super long and almost has a 70 feel which is in this season too.

i went in wanting the baja, but left with the may flowers. it's so much cuter in person. i'm also loving the oceanfront.

Oh man, I love those.

Forever 21 and Kohls both have some super cheap options right now. None as pretty as the $200+ versions, but you know. Compromise.

I like Oscar best. I'd like the daughters of the revolution one if the front was modest.

I really like the daughters of the revolution and the calypso. You can make the first one modest and add texture to it. The colors and sleeves are super fun. And the calypso is just plain fun!

I love the second and third ones the best. I really would love to get some maxis in bright colors and with sleeves this year. DVF is awesome but I agree, there are some more affordable options out there :)

LOVING the Oscar & Tory.... looking up the Tory now. I am always looking for a great maxi dress, too, but my problem is the bust & I feel like they are usually low cut! Good luck Girlfriend!
