Every year, Halloween seems to sneak up on me. Gone are the
days when I would spend hours pouring over the pattern books at the fabric store and asking my mom to make the most elaborate costume I could find. Now, I feel like I have three options.
1. Buy an incredibly expensive, pre-made costume that I will only wear once, ever (No thanks).
2. Come up with something using things I already have.
3. Find things I know I could wear again and justify spending the money because, "Oh this, would also make a great New Year's Eve dress" etc. etc.

Totally with you on #1. I hate buying those costumes! But I won't be dressing up for Halloween this year anyway, I feel like I'm past that point where I want to go to (slutty) Halloween parties. Trust me, it's hard to look for those that aren't very slutty! LOL

I'm having a giveaway on my blog if you're interested :)
I love all of these suggestions! And that's exactly what I'm doing. I have a flapper dress that totally works as a normal day dress, but with the proper accessories, it's a Halloween costume! ...I'm totally drooling over the Sherlock outfit. Maybe next year!
I love those looks just as everyday outfits.
